Natural Kidney Healing and Repair

Kidney Healing and Repair

The National Kidney Foundation indicates that kidney disease impacts the filtration of blood through the kidneys. Healthy kidneys filter the blood and remove excess fluid and waste. The National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse explains that when kidney failure occurs, toxins build up in the body resulting in excess fluid retention, high blood pressure and reduced production of red blood cells

Baking Soda Is VERY EFFECTIVE in Enhancing Kidney Repair and Regeneration

  • The kidneys monitor and control the acidity or “acid-base” (pH) balance of the blood. If the blood is too acidic, the kidney makes bicarbonate to restore the bloods pH balance. If the blood is too alkaline, then the kidney excretes bicarbonate into the urine to restore the balance. Acid-base balance is the net result of two processes, first, the removal of bicarbonate subsequent to hydrogen ion production from the metabolism of dietary constituents; second, the synthesis of “new” bicarbonate by the kidney.
  • It is considered that normal adults eating ordinary Western diets have chronic, low-grade acidosis which increases with age. This excess acid, or acidosis, is considered to contribute to many diseases and to contribute to the aging process. Acidosis occurs often when the body cannot produce enough bicarbonate ions (or other alkaline compounds) to neutralize the acids in the body formed from metabolism and drinking highly acid drinks like Coke, Pepsi and we are even seeing reports on bottled mineral water being way too acidic.
  • Bicarbonate ions neutralize the acid conditions required for chronic inflammatory reactions. Hence, sodium bicarbonate is of benefit in the treatment of a range of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Sodium bicarbonate is a well studied and used medicine with known effects. Sodium bicarbonate is effective in treating poisonings or overdoses from many chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs by negating their cardiotoxic and neurotoxic effects.[8]It is the main reason it is used by orthodox oncology – to mitigate the highly toxic effects of chemotherapy.
  • Sodium bicarbonate possesses the property of absorbing heavy metals, dioxins and furans.Comparison of cancer tissue with healthy tissue from the same person shows that the cancer tissue has a much higher concentration of toxic chemicals, pesticides, etc.

Common Causes of Kidney Failure

Soda Pop Drinking(Pepsi,Coke,Sprite etc..) causes acidosis:

Acidosis occurs often when the body cannot produce enough bicarbonate ions (or other alkaline compounds) to neutralize the acids in the body formed from metabolism and drinking highly acid drinks like Coke, Pepsi and we are even seeing reports on bottled mineral water being way too acidic.

Alcoholism

Excessive alcohol consumption and chronic alcoholism cause varying medical conditions, including kidney disease. Chronic high blood pressure is associated with kidney disease and excessive alcohol use is a factor in the development of high blood pressure. The American Association of Kidney Patients explains that alcoholism can contribute to causing kidney failure as well as causing the need for dialysis in those with existing kidney disease that also choose to continue excessive alcohol use.

Genetically Modified Foods(GMO)

(Any foods with corn & soy ingredients)

The original study, published in Food and Chemical Toxicology (FCT) in September 2012, found severe liver and kidney damage and hormonal disturbances in rats fed the GM maize and low levels of Roundup that are below those permitted in drinking water in the EU. Avoid cheap processed foods like chips, pops, breads, pizzas and meats that have ANY CORN OR SOYBEAN ingredients, they come from GMO crops and

Caffeine

Caffeine in coffee, tea, soda, and foods can also place a strain on your kidneys. Because caffeine is a stimulant, it can stimulate blood flow, increasing blood pressure and stress on the kidneys. A 2002 study in Kidney International showed that long-term caffeine consumption exacerbated chronic kidney failure in obese and diabetic rats. Caffeine consumption has also been linked to kidney stone formation by increasing calciumexcretion in urine.

Meat

Diets high in animal protein can cause kidney damage. In fact, according to the Mayo Clinic, a high-protein diet may cause or exacerbate existing kidney problems because protein metabolism places a heavy load on the kidneys, making it difficult to eliminate its waste products.

A 2003 study in the European Journal of Nutrition showed that a diet rich in animal-based proteins could also increase the risk of developing kidney stones from uric acid, while a vegetarian diet lowered the uric acid and prevented formation of stones. Uric acid is one of the common causes of kidney stone and is a byproduct of eating foods that are high in purines such as meat, seafood, and fish. These foods may also trigger the other common type of kidney stones, calcium oxalate stones, because they increase the amount of calcium excreted in urine, as well as affect your digestive probiotics. How? Animal protein metabolism leaves an acidic residue in the body. Because your body favors an alkaline state, it pulls calcium and other mineral salts from the bones in order to return you to that alkaline state. This calcium can form calcium oxalate kidney stones.

Artificial sweeteners

Many people believe they are doing something healthy for their bodies when they consume artificial sweeteners because these ingredients are non-caloric. In a review of the Nurses Study, researchers looked at the role of artificial sweeteners on kidney function and found that there was an increase in kidney function decline with intake of just two diet sodas per day.

Foods To Heal Kidneys

Baking Soda

The simple household product used for baking, cleaning, bee stings, treating asthma, cancer and acid indigestion is so effective in treating kidney disease that it prevents patients from having to be put on kidney machines. New research by British scientists at the Royal London Hospital shows that sodium bicarbonate can dramatically slow the progress of chronic kidney disease.

 Cherries

These tasty little fruits help reduce redness and swelling and contain a healthy amount of vitamin C as well as vitamin K, folate, vitamin B6, magnesium, and citrate. The tarter the cherry, the higher the level of citrate. Citrate reduces uric acid in the blood stream which can lead to gout and arthritis. [1] Those who eat cherries have been found to have lower uric acid levels and a lower risk of gout attacks.

Cranberries

Cranberries also offer high levels of vitamin C and manganese. Women have traditionally used it to fight off UTIs. Recent research has found pure cranberry juice (not the sugary stuff) diluted in water reduced urinary levels of oxalate and phosphate which reduce the formation of kidney stones.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is known for its ability to help regulate glucose levels. This can help the body manage glucose better and offer protection from blood sugar disorders. Excess glucose that results from diabetes can cause damage to the kidneys. Another study confirmed that cinnamon can be used as a supplement without concern for increased oxalate risk.

Kidney Beans

The shape and name of these beans may suggest which organ benefits most from its healing potential. Kidney beans are known for as an effective home remedy for kidney stones. In ancient times, the pods served as medicinal tonic.

To reduce kidney stone pain- remove the beans from the pods and in a slow cooker, boil the pods in purified water for 6 hours. Once finished, strain the liquid and let it cool before drinking. Drink throughout the day.

Olive Oil

Like fish, olive oil is a healthy serving of nutrient dense, unsaturated fats. Olive oil is also the basis for the ‘Mediterranean Diet.’ A recent study found individuals suffering from chronic kidney disease who adopted this diet experienced improvements in both symptoms and survival. The active components in olives improve the life of those suffering from chronic kidney disease and will certainly provide kidney support to those looking to maintain kidney health.

Onions and Garlic

Both onions and garlic contain quercitin. Quercitin is a powerful flavonoid associated with antioxidant benefits and potency against redness and irritation. Research has found quercitin helps provide a protection against kidney damage for smokers.  For non-smokers, the bonus protection provided by quercitin combined with improved fat metabolism helps protect the body’s filters.

Green Tea

Besides, tea polyphenols in green tea plays an important role in the metabolism of fat. High levels of cholesterol and triglyceride can induce cardiovascular disease, which is very life-threatening. By drinking green tea regularly, chronic kidney failure patient’s risk of developing cardiovascular disease can be lowered effectively.
